The candidate should have an MCSE and possess good written and verbal communications skills. He or she should also have familiarity with operational management toolsets such as HP Systems Insight Manager and Microsoft Operations Manager. A 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or 10 years of experience in IT is also required.

The SBA network consists of 4500 workstations and 150 servers in 90 locations located around the United States. The candidate will provide Tier III, on-site support services to address and complete the tasks outlined below. Tier III staff typically do not directly interface with users; rather, they generally interface with the Field Information Technology Specialists (FITS) and other technical professionals to configure, implement, and resolve hardware and software used to support LAN/WAN services. Tier III services include the monitoring of network operations, resolution of complex technical issues, serve as the primary interface with external technology partners, hardware, and software vendors (Ex. Daily Responsibilities Include: Installation, development and customization of hardware and software systems elements. Function as technical team lead assigned to install local area networks at Department of State facilities worldwide.
